Hi! I'm Vin, the developer behind Luca ("the App"). I built Luca to help people split bills easily. Because I am an independent developer, I want to keep this privacy policy as simple and transparent as possible.

By using Luca, you agree to the practices described below.

1. What Data We Collect and Why

To make the app work, Luca collects some basic information:

• Account Info: When you log in with Google, we receive your Name, Email, and Profile Picture. This is only used to create your profile and let your friends recognize you in the app.
• Camera & Photos: The app asks for camera/gallery permissions solely for the "Scan Receipt" feature. It only accesses the specific image you choose to scan.
• Your Expenses: Trips, items, prices, and contacts you add are saved so you can access them across your devices and share them with your trip members.

2. Where Your Data Goes (Third-Party Services)

I don't host my own servers. Instead, I rely on secure, industry-standard services provided by Google:

• Google Firebase: Used to store your user data, expenses, and handle the login system safely.
• Google Gemini AI: When you scan a receipt, the image is temporarily sent to Gemini AI to extract the text and numbers. I do not store your receipt photos, and your images are not used by me to train public AI models.

3. Data Deletion

If you want to stop using Luca and want your data completely wiped from the database, simply send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Delete My Luca Account". I will manually delete your account and all associated expense data as soon as possible.

4. Children's Privacy

Luca is not intended for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

5. Changes to This Policy

If the app gets new features that change how data is handled, I will update this page.
